SUMMARY:Lake George Village Oktoberfest
DESCRIPTION:Canada StreetLake George\, NY 12845\n\n\n\n\nPrice: Free entry\nTime: 12:00 PM\nRecurrence: Recurring weekly on Sunday\, Friday\, Saturday\n\nA 15th Annual Fall Tradition in Lake George Village\nLake George Oktoberfest returns to Canada Street for its 15th year on October 9–11\, 2026\, timed to Columbus Day Weekend. For three days\, the heart of Lake George Village transforms into a Bavarian-style street fair celebrating the arrival of fall in the Adirondacks\, with entry free to all. Lake George Village Oktoberfest runs Friday and Saturday from noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.\, rain or shine\, with large tented areas providing cover if the weather doesn’t cooperate. \nGerman Food and the Adirondack Beer Garden\nAuthentic German fare fuels the festival\, including bratwurst\, knackwurst\, weisswurst\, giant pretzels\, German potato salad\, and smoked turkey legs\, along with warm desserts throughout the weekend. Lake George’s own Adirondack Pub & Brewery hosts the beer garden\, pouring a seasonal Oktoberfest lager alongside pilsner\, IPA\, hefeweizen\, hard cider\, and hard lemonade\, plus wines from Adirondack Winery for guests who prefer something other than beer. Food and drink purchases are cash only\, though ATMs are available on site. \nMusic\, Dancing\, and Oktoberfest Traditions\nTraditional German polka bands and Bavarian dance troupes perform throughout the weekend\, with the full lineup announced closer to the event. Saturday’s schedule includes the festival’s best-known traditions: stein hoisting (“Masskrugstemmen”) and keg toss competitions for men and women\, followed by the ceremonial cask tapping\, “O’zapft is!\,” that officially opens the beer garden for the evening. Visitors can also look for the crowd-favorite Dancing Chicken\, along with local artisan vendors and carnival rides set up along Canada Street. \nFamily-Friendly Activities and Games\nLake George Oktoberfest is designed for all ages\, with free pumpkin painting and lawn games like cornhole\, giant Connect Four\, and giant Jenga available throughout the weekend at no cost. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome at the festival\, and the grounds are fully handicap accessible. \nGetting to Oktoberfest and Parking\nLake George Village Oktoberfest takes place along Canada Street and at Shepard Park in downtown Lake George\, NY. Canada Street is closed to vehicle traffic for the duration of the festival\, so free parking is available instead in the Biscotti Brothers/High Peaks Distilling lot at 1 Canada Street\, with additional free parking on the surrounding side streets.

SUMMARY:Thurman Fall Festival
DESCRIPTION:What to Expect at the Thurman Fall Festival\nThe Thurman Fall Festival brings visitors to the town of Thurman\, NY each October for a day of farm-fresh food\, handmade crafts\, and small-town charm in the Lake George Area. On October 10–11\, 2026\, the 2nd Annual Thurman Fall Festival returns to Thurman Town Hall and the surrounding farms for a free\, family-friendly celebration of the harvest season. \nTravelers can visit Rustic Acres Farm and Bakery for fresh\, farm-made products straight from this corner of the North Country\, then browse deals at the town-wide garage sale\, with tables set up at Thurman Town Hall. The Adirondack quilt show\, a longtime favorite for craft and textile lovers\, runs alongside the festival on October 10th\, and live music fills the air throughout the weekend. \nThurman has been home to fall gatherings that celebrate its farms and small businesses for years\, most recently through the Thurman Fall Farm Tour\, which was a self-guided drive between local farms that was a fall tradition in town before it was discontinued in 2025. The Thurman Fall Festival and Townwide Garage Sale has taken shape each October since 2025 as the town’s next chapter of fall festivities\, carrying forward some of the same spirit\, including stops at Rustic Acres Farm and the Adirondack quilt show\, in a single\, centrally located event at Thurman Town Hall. \nAdmission is free\, and the festival runs from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Thurman Town Hall\, at 311 Athol Road\, serves as the hub for the garage sale and quilt show\, with farm visits nearby. Visitors can build a full day around the festivities\, from browsing garage sale finds to sampling fresh farm goods and enjoying live music in a classic Adirondack town setting.
