Celebrate volunteer firefighters at a fun weekend of festivities!

The Hudson Valley Volunteer Firefighters Association is gathering for their 137th Annual Convention in Lake George to celebrate the efforts of volunteer firefighters. All are encouraged to attend the Firefighters Block Party and two parades as part of the weekend festivities! The Firefighters Block Party will take place at the south end of the lake on Beach Road with live music by Ten Most Wanted at 6 PM. Please attend the Mardi Gras Parade along Beach Road in Lake George until it ends in Shepard Park. The theme for the Mardi Gras Parade this year is Happy Birthday America – 250 Years of Independence. The second parade will be the Dress Parade of local firefighters on the final day of festivities in Lake George with the step off happening at 1 PM.

 2026 schedule

  • June 12
    • 5:00 PM – Line up for the Mardi Gras Parade.
    • 6:00 PM – The Block Party begins in Shepard Park
    • 7:00 PM – Mardi Gras Parade starts on Beach Road and ends at Shepard Park.
  • June 13
    • 11:00 AM – Line up for the Dress Parade
    • 1:00 PM – Dress Parade starts on the North End of Lake George Village heading down Canada Street
