Glens Falls Pet Fest is a free, family-friendly celebration of pets and the people who love them, held each May in Glens Falls City Park in downtown Glens Falls. Now in its 9th year, the festival brings together pet owners, vendors, rescues, groomers, veterinarians, and animal-welfare nonprofits for a full afternoon of contests, demonstrations, and pet-centered fun — about 12 miles south of Lake George Village in the heart of the Lake George Area.
What to Expect
Pet Fest packs a lot into five hours. The Alpha Dog Lure Course is a perennial favorite, giving dogs the chance to chase a flag at full speed for a $10 entry fee. The Dog’s Got Talent Contest and Pet Fest Costume Contest are free to enter and crowd-pleasers to watch. K9 demonstrations from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and obedience demos from North Country PAWS for Obedience run throughout the day, and a Kid’s Corner keeps younger family members entertained with hands-on activities.
Vendors and Rescues On Site
Dozens of regional businesses set up at the park each year, including pet groomers, boarders, trainers, and veterinarians, alongside rescues like Lucky Puppy Rescue, Catskill Canine Rescue, and the North Shore Animal League America – Adirondack Region. You’ll also find local food and drink vendors, artisans, and pet-friendly retail — making it a useful stop whether you’re adopting, gearing up, or just window-shopping with a leash in hand.
Pet Policy
All pets are welcome as long as they’re well-behaved and properly leashed or carried. Bring water and be mindful of crowd density — Pet Fest draws hundreds of animals across the day, and not every dog reads other dogs the same way. Reactive or anxious pets are best left at home so they (and everyone else) can enjoy the day.
